Hello you beautiful musicians, it's Mack here, and today I'm going to be answering 73 random questions, to provide a little insight into who I am.
I want yourself to answer these too, and when you do, email them to info@musicianguidance.com and we'll share them.
Before we get into the questions though, why am I answering these questions, and why do I want you to answer them too?
Well... how often do we hear music and not know who the creator of it is? Maybe we know their name, and where they're from, but what else?
Music is something that brings us together, and yet, despite that, we still don't know much about the artists creating what we listen to each day.
So on behalf of your fans, we want to learn about YOU! By answering these 73 questions, we'll get an insight into who you are, and who the person is behind the music we love.
So with that being the goal, I'll share my answers, and then I hope to see you share yours!!
Alright, here we go... let's hope I don't expose myself too much haha.
1. Morning or night person?
Night person. You won't see me up before 8:30am and won't see me asleep before 3am. When the world is asleep, I find peace, and its that peace when I'm able to do my best work.
2. What makes you angry?
I wouldn't say angry, but I get frustrated when people don't try. I don't like quitters. Give something an honest shot and you may just surprise yourself : )
3. Favourite music creator?
Avicii. He got me into music.
4. Best piece of advice you ever received?
Probably the quote, "everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." That quote helps me trust the process when the days seem dark or long.
5. Sweet or savoury?
Sweet! Wait no. Savoury. I don't know, both!
6. What makes you smile the most?
Seeing you smile : )
7. What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
Hmmm, maybe that I'm a big soccer fan!!
8. What are three things you can’t live without?
Lemon water. A puzzle game (ie. solitaire, scrabble, crosswords, etc). And music!!
9. Window or aisle seat?
Window seat. I don't want to be bothered on a plane. Let me sit, stare out the window and play songs in my head haha, but seriously : )
10. How would you define yourself in three words?
An average bloke.
11. Favourite piece of clothing you own?
Any hat.
12. Biggest pet peeve?
Loud chewers, even though I am a loud chewer too lol.
13. What’s something you notice about someone when you first meet them?
Their posture. I think it's something that gives an immense amount of insight into who they are.
14. What's heavily played on your music playlist right now?
Any sad song. When I drive. When I workout. I’m not sad, but those songs just hit different.
15. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Romantic comedies. Can't believe I'm admitting that LOL.
16. What book did you most recently finish?
I read quite a bit, but not books. I read more nerdy stuff, like reports. Last book? Hmmm. I'll get back to you on that.
17. How do you start your day off?
First thing I do is look at any emails I missed when sleeping, and reply to important ones. Then I usually get my brain going with a quick puzzle game (ie. scrabble). I don't drink coffee, but I find this wakes me up just as fast.
18. What’s your favourite holiday?
Christmas. Just such a festive time of year.
19. Besides your phone or wallet, what is an item you must have with with you at all times?
TicTacs. Not that I have bad breathe lol, but I want to make sure I don't hehe.
20. If you were not working in the music industry, what would you be doing?
Probably something in marketing.
21. What’s one city you’ve always dreamed of travelling to?
Sydney, Australia!!!
22. Favourite food?
Cajun trail mix LOL. Just soooo good. I'm even eating some now.
23. What’s a movie that made you cry?
Marley & Me.
24. What’s a superpower you wish you had?
The ability to fly.
25. What’s something you don’t want to be doing in 10 years?
Probably still looking for socks around the house. I swear the washing machine steals them.
26. What’s your favourite cocktail?
I don't drink. Couldn't even name one. Lemon water anyone?
27. Favourite colour?
Sky blue.
28. Do you like surprises?
Not really. I like to be prepared.
29. What’s one thing you had to learn the hard way?
Death. Or the reality of life. Or however we want to word it.
30. What’s something you’re tired of?
Hearing excuses. Just do what you want to, because I know you can! I believe in you, so please believe in yourself.
31. What did you want to do with your life at age 10?
Probably be a professional soccer player.
32. Winter or summer?
Summer 10000000%.
33. Favourite word?
Potato. I wish I knew why LOL.
34. Who do you text the most?
I can't say there's one person. I'm big on relationships, so I'll always send something to most of my friends to stay in touch. As for people I text everyday, there's probably 4-5, all for different reasons. Some business. Some friends. I love em all though!
35. Who is your hero?
My parents.
36. What was your favourite subject in high school?
Nothing jumps out at me. Gym class I guess.
37. Describe your style in one word.
Unorganized.
38. Is your bed made right now?
Next question please.
39. Have you ever written a song for someone?
Yes, but it was more for me to express myself.
40. If you could be transformed into one animal, which one would you choose?
Probably a dog, but if that ever happened, please don't dress me in dog boots, or make me wear a coat.
41. What is your hidden talent?
I don't think I have a hidden talent, or a talent that everyone can see for that matter. Maybe it's that I can do the moonwalk, if the surface is right. Is that a talent?
42. How do you usually answer the telephone?
I don’t. Like seriously. My phone is ALWAYS on do not disturb. If it's someone I know calling me though, and I happen to see it, I'll usually answer with, "hey, hey, what's up buddy?" I try to come in with some energy, because phone calls can be sooo boring lol.
43. If you were to write a book, what would it be about?
Honestly, it would be filled with dad jokes! Here's one for you. Why do you never see elephants hiding in trees? Because they're so good at it hehe.
44. Have you ever moved cross country?
Not yet.
45. Would your 12 year old self think you are cool?
LOL, have you seen my style? No, definitely no.
46. Would you ever skydive?
Yes.
47. Do you correct other people’s grammar?
If its for something serious, of course! If it's over text though, nope, cause I'm the worst texter. None of my texts makes sense, so if anything, I need my grammar corrected.
48. Do you have any tattoos?
Nope.
49. Cats or dogs?
I hope this does not start a war, but dogs!
50. Do you shower at night or in the morning?
In the morning.
51. Would you rather fly or have super strength?
Fly. I don't care about strength as long as I can open the pickle jar without having to ask someone.
52. Would you rather travel to the past or to the future?
Probably travel to the past, so I could change my answer for number 15. Still cannot believe I'm putting that out there...
53. Do you prefer social time or alone time?
That's though. I genuinely love meeting and connecting with people, but I really value my alone time too.
54. Are you more of a thinker or a doer?
Doer. I should probably think more before doing things sometimes, but I also believe if you spend too much time thinking about something, you'll always find a reason not to do it, so I just do it.
55. Learn by watching or learn by doing?
I learn by failing and then learning from that.
56. A night in or a night out?
Night in!
57. Do you kill bugs you find inside or take them outside?
Neither. If I see a bug in the house, I move out. They can have it. LOL.
58. Fresh food or fried food?
Fresh.
59. Are you more cautious or bold?
Hmmm. That's tough. I'm definitely bold, but I always have a "backup" plan, so both, I guess?
60. Do you have your own Netflix account, or do you use somebody else’s?
I think we both know the answer to that haha.
61. What is your last google search?
Bing.
62. What are the least-likely three words someone would use to describe you?
Least likely? Partier. Drinker. Smoker. I'm not about that life.
63. What non-existent job do you wish existed?
A job where someone watched my phone all night to ensure it charges. Mine never seems to charge...
64. What object do you misplace or lose the most?
Golfballs LOL.
65. What quote resonates with you the most?
"Where there's a will, there's a way."
66. What do you think is the key to living a good life?
Solid relationships. They're the most powerful thing in life, in my opinion.
67. What stranger do you still think about sometimes?
Probably the one at the mall about 5 years ago. I was leaving and when I opened the door, I looked back (to see if I should hold it open for the person behind me). They were maybe 50 feet away and so I closed it. I feel like 30 feet is a good cut off, anyway I hope they don't think I'm mad at them.
68. What is the kindest thing someone ever did for you?
What comes to mind is something one of my friends told me. She was going through a really hard time and I tried cheering her up with dad jokes. She absolutely hated the jokes, but then said, “you’re not the funniest person, but you put in more effort to make me smile than anyone has before,” and to me, that was like the biggest compliment, because even if I failed, she understood what I was trying to do.
69. What do you think people misunderstand about you?
I think a lot of people think that I don’t like them, when that is NOT the case. I’m just not outgoing. I hope people don’t think I’m rude or don’t like them just because I prefer to stay in.
70. How do you want loved ones to remember you?
As someone who is always happy to lend a helping hand. I've received help and mentoring from amazing people, so I try to do my best to offer the same.
71. What do you usually wear while working?
A hoodie, hat and blanket around my legs hehe.
72. Diamonds or pearls?
I don't care about either. I'd prefer lemon water.
73.Favorite holiday movie?
Jingle All The Way.
